Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Marketplace Launchpad (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs Marketplace Launchpad. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, contact us or become a customer, how we use it, and the choices you have.

It does not cover the information your marketplace collects about its own sellers and shoppers. Your marketplace runs on servers you choose and control; we do not host it or access its data (apart from the aggregate usage reports described below), and your marketplace’s own privacy notice applies. If you share any of that information with us for support, we handle it only on your behalf and as you instruct.

2. What we collect

Account details. Your name, email address, company name and password when you sign up, plus details about the marketplace you are planning (such as its name, industry and expected number of sellers). Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash, so we cannot read them.
Billing information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe shares with us what we need to manage your subscription, such as its status, your invoices and payment status.
License and download records. Your license key, your license’s entitlements, and a record of the Software versions you download and when, so we can provide downloads and updates and prevent misuse of license keys.
Usage reports from your installation. Each production installation of the Software uses your license key to send us its monthly sales total, order count and software version. We tie these reports to your license key to calculate your fees. They contain aggregate figures only — no names, contact details or order details for your sellers or shoppers.
Messages you send us. When you use our contact form or email us, we keep your name, email address, any optional details you give (such as your company, phone number and expected number of sellers) and your message.
Emails we send you. We keep a record of the service emails we send, such as welcome, receipt and password-reset emails.
Server logs. Like most websites, our servers record basic technical information for each request — such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — to keep our website and the Service secure and working.

3. Cookies

We use one essential cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in to your account. It is set only when you sign up or log in, and is removed when you log out or it expires.

We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not load third-party trackers on our website. Because we only use a strictly necessary cookie, we do not show a cookie banner. When you check out, you are taken to Stripe’s secure payment page, which may use its own cookies for fraud prevention under Stripe’s privacy policy.

4. How we use your information

To create and manage your account and subscription.
To issue your license key, provide downloads and updates, and prevent misuse of license keys.
To provide support and improve the Software and the Service.
To calculate your fees from your installation’s usage reports, and to take payments and manage billing through Stripe.
To send service emails, such as your welcome email, release notices, receipts and password resets.
To reply to your messages and support requests.
To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We will only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We never sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

5. Our legal bases

Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on: contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to keep the Service secure, reply to enquiries and improve what we offer), legal obligation (for tax and accounting records) and consent (for anything optional, such as marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time).

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us run Marketplace Launchpad, and only as much as they need:

Stripe, to process payments and manage subscriptions, including the monthly sales totals your fees are calculated from;
our email delivery provider, to send service emails;
the hosting provider for our own website, to store account, license and billing records and run this website.

These providers may only use your information to provide their services to us and must protect it. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply.

7. International transfers

Our providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in. When we transfer personal information internationally, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, as required by applicable law.

8. How long we keep it

Account, license and billing records (including usage reports) — for as long as your account is open, then as long as we need them for legal, tax and accounting purposes.
Contact-form messages — for as long as we need to respond and follow up, and no longer than two years unless you become a customer.
Server logs — for a short period, normally no more than 90 days, unless needed to investigate a security issue.

When we no longer need information, we delete or anonymize it.

9. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, restricted access and regular backups. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe, which is certified to the highest level of the payment card industry’s security standard (PCI DSS Level 1). No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

access the personal information we hold about you;
correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
have your information deleted;
receive a copy of your information in a portable format;
object to or restrict certain uses of your information;
withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To use any of these rights, email us at support@mp-lp.com or use our contact form. We will respond within the time the law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

11. Children

Marketplace Launchpad is a service for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, we will let customers know by email or in their account before it takes effect.
